The Power of God

Children’s ministry has been a part of my life ever since I was born. Literally…I was used as a puppet when I was a baby. No joke.

Something that I will never get tired of and truly amazed to see…is when Children worship God and experience His power. My dad’s motto in life was…“If kids can experience evil at a young age, why can’t they experience the power of God?” How true is that! Oh, and in case you wanted to know another motto from Big Vinny… “Never trust a skinny chef!” but that could be another devotion for another day! Ha!

Anyway, back to the point. The kids coming to KSMC, will be coming from a lot of different backgrounds. Some good, and some bad. Sadly a lot of these kids will have probably already experienced evil. But that makes me look forward to what God is going to do because I know they can experience the power of God way more than they can experience evil. It’s not a babysitting week. But it’s a week that these kids are going to get the word of God in their hearts. Then they can take that into their homes. YOU are a part of this. It’s a pretty big thing when you think about it. You will have many opportunities to be an example of who Jesus is to these kids.

So be aware…during chapel, devotions, games, lunch, crafts, and practices. We will have many opportunities to choose to interact with them. Let’s get on their level and have fun. But let’s also get on the Holy Spirit’s level so we can be aware of what he wants us do. Ephesians 3:19-20 would be great to use as a prayer for us as a team and for the kids.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Looking forward to working with you all!
